Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer I to join our team in developing cutting-edge medical devices. You will contribute to the design and development of microprocessor-based hardware for our infusion systems and temperature management products. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the design, development, and testing of microprocessor-based hardware systems.
Support the integration of touchscreen displays, audio alarms, wireless communication modules, and motor control systems for high-precision delivery.
Reference and improve upon existing designs to meet project goals and regulatory standards.
Deliver presentations tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, and systems engineering.
Work under the supervision of senior engineers.
Expected to complete assignments with increasing independence.
Demonstrate initiative and accountability in assigned tasks.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong foundation in circuit design, embedded systems, and signal processing.
Eagerness to learn and grow in a regulated, safety-critical industry.
Basic understanding of wireless communication protocols, motor control, and user interface hardware.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age
Bachelor's degreein electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
0-2 years' experience
Internship or co-op experience in medical devices or embedded systems preferred.
Familiarity with CAD tools, circuit simulation software, and embedded programming preferred.
Understanding of DFMEA, DOE, and process capability preferred.
Innovative thinker with a passion for advancing technology through original research and intellectual property development preferred.
Work Environment
Due to the nature of this role, which involves direct collaboration with cross-functional teams, hardware development, and lab testing, the Electrical Engineer I must be onsite daily at the ICU Medical – Lake Forest site.
This is largely a sedentary role.
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
Salary Range - $60,000 - $86,000
