Nashville, TN , supporting our Acton, MA operations. The role involves applying academic knowledge to real-world projects, including construction quality assurance (CQA) for earthwork, water treatment, instrumentation, and civil and geotechnical construction projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor activities on job sites to ensure compliance with contract documents (e.g., specifications, drawings, sampling plans, CQA plans). Prepare daily, weekly, and progress reports. Ensure project documentation aligns with company policies and procedures. Conduct geotechnical field investigations. Monitor heavy civil construction projects. Perform and review engineering calculations. Inspect dams, levees, and CCR facilities; assist with evaluations. Develop construction documents. Write and review engineering reports. Fieldwork: Up to 90% of time. Overnight travel: Limited, primarily local to Nashville; other opportunities may arise.
Education and Licensure Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or geology (required). Advanced degree preferred. Professional registration (P.E., P.G.) preferred.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Minimum 5 years (7+ preferred) of engineering consulting experience or equivalent education and experience (required). Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS (preferred). Ability to perform regular fieldwork and overnight travel (required). Health & safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug/background testing (required). Valid U.S. driver's license with a satisfactory driving record (required).
