Overview
Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op (Jan. - Aug. or May - Dec. '26) at Millerbernd. Onsite in Winsted, MN. 1st shift, Monday – Friday, business hours. Salary range: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour. Responsibilities
Perform time studies by timing and/or videos of shop floor work and tabulate results to improve processes and line operations. Draw and design layouts using SolidWorks to aid in plant expansion and equipment placement. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop jigs, fixtures, and workstations for manufacturing processes. Participate in project management activities (timelines, financial analysis, procurement, Gantt charts, vendor contacts) from start to finish. Create, maintain, and update manufacturing documentation (part routings, work instructions, standard process times, standard work). Support manufacturing engineers in day-to-day tasks and problem resolution. Support Continuous Improvement projects. Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial Technology. Desirable courses: Time & Motion Study, CAD, Manufacturing Materials and Processes, Statistical Analysis, Production and Operations Analysis, Facilities Layout/Manufacturing Cost Analysis or related. Fundamental understanding of Lean and Six Sigma desired. Strong engineering concepts and ability to apply to real-world problems. Exposure to paint, welding, fabrication, and machine shop processes or systems desired. Exposure to DFA/DFM desired. Experience with CAD systems for design and documentation. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints; experience with test and measurement equipment. Strong PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Willingness to work in a hands-on production environment; good listening, analytical, and data-documentation skills. Technical problem-solving in a production environment. Benefits
