Responsibilities
Maintain familiarity with plans, specifications, construction schedules, and contractor's plans on assigned contracts, the Project Management Plan, and current safety regulations to understand the responsibilities of the project team (including WMATA, consultants, and contractors).
Support the WMATA Project Implementation Team during project execution.
Assist in developing construction solicitation packages for bidding, proposal evaluation, and award recommendations.
Review contract solicitation packages and recommend proposals for award consideration.
Coordinate work with contractors to ensure compliance with technical specifications and contract provisions.
Develop scopes of work, work packages, and schedules.
Oversee field operations, coordinating support, schedules, materials, and access for WMATA and contractor personnel.
Participate in pre-construction surveys, collect field data, and organize data in files and spreadsheets.
Review and approve contractor payment requests.
Prepare technical documents for project records.
Monitor construction activities, schedule, scope, and budget.
Prepare project status reports.
Conduct site visits and participate in progress meetings.
Review contractors' inspection procedures and recommend improvements.
Coordinate and verify substantial completion and final inspections, reviewing documentation for compliance.
Background and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
At least ten (10) years of construction or related engineering experience, including two (2) years in the transit industry.
OSHA 10-hour Construction certification.
Physical ability to access locations and perform inspections.
Successful completion of WMATA’s RWP Certification Class.
Previous field experience.
Experience with Microsoft 365.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with WMATA design criteria and standards.
Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Procore.
Salary Range: $118,000 to $133,000 per year
