US Farathane is seeking an Automation Technician at our Austin, TX location.
Summary The Automation Technician is responsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting robotic and automation systems, utilizing knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensors or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics.
Essential Functions
Get the secondary automated equipment running during production.
Troubleshoot non-functioning components including servos, sensors, and pneumatic/control components.
Replace parts as needed.
Report on automation equipment status.
Support quality and continuous improvement projects.
Perform electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic modifications on fixtures.
Support a team-oriented work environment, respecting individuality, encouraging suggestions, and expressing appreciation for colleagues’ efforts.
Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, collaborating with manufacturers or field representatives to maximize machine utilization and productivity.
Fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, or fixtures using metalworking machines.
Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
Background in electrical/pneumatic systems required.
Knowledge of PLCs and controls preferred.
Physical Requirements
Regular use of hands, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.
Occasional tasting or smelling.
Regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision.
