Burns & McDonnell . Description Our Transmission & Distribution global practice is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our Vancouver office. This role involves serving as a lead engineer on telecommunications projects, focusing on modernizing electric grid infrastructure through communications and network solutions. Projects Grid Modernization: Enhancing reliable and secure communication for grid operations. Networks: Building redundant, high-capacity data networks for operational needs. Renewable Energy: Connecting renewable assets to the grid, including offshore wind, solar, hydroelectric, and battery storage. Rural Broadband: Expanding high-speed internet access to rural communities. Private LTE: Developing private carrier-grade networks for utilities. Fiber: Expanding fiber optic infrastructure for high-bandwidth data transmission. Electric Vehicles: Supporting transportation electrification initiatives. Responsibilities Manage electrical project design from concept to completion. Research, design, and compile project data. Apply electrical engineering principles, codes, and practices to complex problems. Perform field inspections and measurements. Create and review project deliverables, including network diagrams and specifications. Utilize tools like GIS, 3D scanning, and model-based design. Review drawings and deliver client presentations. Develop client relationships and lead proposal creation. Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited institution. At least 7 years of utility Networks, Integration, and Automation project experience, including 3 years of project management. PE registration preferred. PMP certification preferred. Effective communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to travel; valid driver's license required. Compensation $150,000 - $205,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, including base salary and potential bonuses.
