Position Summary The Repair & Maintenance Engineering position focuses on planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment. A Senior Professional position applies advanced knowledge of a job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.
Responsibilities
Leads projects or processes of diverse scope, while working independently with limited supervision
Coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals
Supports continuous improvement/automation activities
Plans and coordinates maintenance engineering work, including review of mechanical and electrical engineering specifications
Performs engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts
Liaises with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules
Participates in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
