Principal EQE Assembly Engineer- Development Module Assembly (Onsite)
Overview
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Principal EQE Assembly Engineer for Development Module Assembly. This is an onsite role located at PW105: North Berwick Wells Road, Route 9, North Berwick, ME, 03906 USA. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (Secret) are required.
What You Will Do
Interpret approved technical data such as blueprints, web assembly drawings, and tables of limits to develop process work instructions.
Perform FECC (First Engine Configuration Check) / FCCA (First Configuration Check Audit) and support controlled builds.
Interpret temperature differential calculations, torque processes, and basic assembly processes; review tool designs, markup prints, issue request forms, track tool changes and corrections; perform necessary gauge correlations; familiarity with write-in’s, swaps, and work order processes.
Create, modify, and approve work instructions in HMS and Solumina; support and assist in reducing turn-around time, meeting on-time delivery goals, and improving ergonomic aspects including process certification and PPAP for assembly & MRL requirements.
Collaborate with planners and production to ensure processes enable material flow and standard work.
Coach and develop process planners for development assembly processing; support the Assembly Planner Team as a focal point for development software systems.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and 8+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment OR a Master's degree and 5+ years of experience in the same.
Engine Quality Engineer in Process Planning or Quality Approval in Manufacturing Engineering.
Knowledge and experience in process improvement initiatives, strong coaching and leadership skills, and teamwork with customer focus.
Familiarity with engine/modular assembly engineering and related shop practices, policies, and documentation for assembly and manufacturing processes.
Ability to plan and prioritize workload; Secret Clearance OR eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
U.S. citizenship is required for access to program/contract information.

Flexibility and adaptability in high-stress, ambiguous assignments.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools (Lean Six Sigma/CORE).
