The Engineering Programs Engineer assists in ensuring continued reliability and longevity of the four Wolf Creek Steam Generators. Responsibilities include owning and implementing associated program procedures and the Steam Generator Asset Management Plan, chairing associated team meetings, implementing regulatory and industry guidelines, and participating in associated EPRI committees. The Engineer will also own and implement the protective coatings program to satisfy licensing and regulatory requirements per procedural guidance. Responsibilities
Program Health Reporting Planning, Scheduling and implementation of the steam generator management plan including
Chairing the SG Asset Team Managing the SG HIT
Trending and Monitoring of SG performance Participating on EPRI SG Technical Advisory and Research Integration Committees Review and implementation of Procedures, Industry Standards/Guidelines and Operating Experience Obtaining necessary qualifications and performing periodic program assessments Assisting the organization with the implementation and maintenance of plant coatings Perform other duties as assigned by supervision/management Education and Experience Requirements
Engineer I: BS degree in Engineering Engineer II: BS degree in Engineering + 2 years relevant experience Staff Engineer: BS degree in Engineering + 4 years relevant experience Senior Engineer: BS degree in Engineering + 8 years of relevant experience; EIT or board-certified preferred Lead Engineer: BS degree in Engineering + 14+ years of relevant experience; Kansas Professional Engineer License preferred Principal Engineer: BS degree in Engineering; Kansas PE License; 20+ years of engineering experience in specific areas; Advanced technical degree preferred (limited use) Relevant experience includes professional engineering, engineering support, or nuclear plant operations; expertise in mechanical or chemical engineering ABET-accredited curricula or equivalent accepted by Kansas Board of Technical Professions Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; present effectively to top management or boards Ability to apply advanced calculus, algebra, and statistics; handle advanced mathematical concepts Ability to apply logical/scientific thinking to a wide range of problems; work with formulas, graphs, and abstract/concrete variables Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and Testing
