Location:
Kennedy Space Center, Florida
Join a high-performing engineering team at Kennedy Space Center supporting spacecraft propulsion testing and verification. As a Propulsion Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in authoring, executing, and troubleshooting test procedures for hypergolic propulsion systems to ensure flight readiness and compliance with mission requirements
Key Responsibilities
Author and execute detailed operating procedures for spacecraft propulsion systems Handle and service hypergolic propellants in accordance with stringent safety protocols Conduct removal, replacement, and re-test procedures for components in hypergolic systems Perform leak testing and functional verification of spacecraft fluid systems Operate high-pressure pneumatic systems to pressurize flight hardware Lead multidisciplinary testing teams, including technicians, QA, and fellow engineers Investigate, document, and resolve equipment and hardware non-conformances Support mission-critical test operations across all shifts (including 2nd and 3rd) and overtime as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science Minimum 5 years experience in propulsion fluids test engineering on spacecraft Experience handling hypergolic propellants and working on contaminated systems Proficient in leak checking, functional testing, and procedure development for hypergolic systems Skilled in pneumatic pressurization of flight systems Demonstrated leadership in testing environments with cross-functional teams Exceptional troubleshooting and documentation capabilities
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
