Working in our manufacturing plant, our Extrusion Tooling Specialist is vital to the success of our business. Your role will support our Tooling Support Manager and our entire plant production. Your role will help ensure that production needs are met and that our customers receive the highest quality products. At Associated Materials, we believe excellent results begin with you!

Key Accountabilities

Repair/ modify profile extrusion tooling and processes and equipment related to productivity, maintaining quality standards, scrap reduction, cost effective within budget. Implementing process designs, making necessary modifications where required and commissioning the process. Assessing safety requirements and ensuring that these are integrated into the process. Working closely with Production, Maintenance and Quality to ensure achievement of common goals and projects. Integrating new technology or environmentally friendly practices into existing processes. Executes AMI’s objectives, meeting commitments and working within the guidelines Provide technical expertise and guidance to production and tool and die personnel.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

A solid foundation in engineering concepts. Knowledge of tooling tuning and repair, profile extrusion industry best practices. Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen attention to detail are also essential. Project management, leadership and teamwork skills are important to ensure that all factors come together to

complete a given assignment on time.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to discuss operational requirements with all levels of personnel Solid understanding of basic Quality standards and processes, to support establishment of Standard Work procedures. Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently, under pressure and meet deadlines Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs Solid experience and knowledge regarding Quality requirements in a manufacturing facility

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills

Three (3+) plus years related experience especially in profile extrusion and/or plastics industry. Lean Manufacturing knowledge and implementation experience Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprint and engineering documents
