Job Summary: As a representative for our company, you will be responsible for assisting with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on maintenance equipment such as conveyor systems, forklifts, and other heavy equipment for assigned facilities, with an emphasis on electrical maintenance and repairs. Maintenance mechanics will be skilled in repairing and maintaining a wide variety of equipment, with cross-transferable skills expected. Essential Functions

Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance on forklifts or conveyor systems. Repair and make adjustments to equipment using hand tools. Assist in the repair and maintenance of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic devices. Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility maintenance. Work with staff and support the team as needed. For conveyor repair: install belts, tighten bolts, adjust tension rolls, straighten parts, and align rollers. For forklift repair: interpret manufacturer\'s technical manuals to perform maintenance/repair as needed. Troubleshoot issues such as brakes, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions. Electrical and troubleshooting skills up to 480v. Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns. Practice safe work habits at all times; comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations. Plan and perform work requiring knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories, local and national electrical codes, materials properties, and operation of electronic equipment. Perform additional repair and maintenance around the facility as needed. Knowledge and Skills

Prior flat belt conveyor experience or experience with electrical forklifts; high-speed sorter experience a huge plus. Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in maintenance work. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively. Education and Work Experience

1-3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic repairing and maintaining heavy equipment; forklift mechanic certification is a plus. Work Environment

Small-to-large work environment. Safety glasses required for certain tasks. Fast paced with moderate noise. Mix of office-like and shop environments. Regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise. Requirements

Have own basic hand tools and battery drill. Physical Demands

Occasional standing, walking, sitting; using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing; stooping; kneeling; crouching or crawling; talking or hearing. Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods. May occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds of equipment and safely install rigging/lifting devices. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Other Duties
