Day‑in‑the‑Life of a General Service Technician General Service Technicians complete routine scheduled maintenance on automobiles and trucks, performing basic automotive repair, adjustments and maintenance procedures such as oil changes, tire replacement and general vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

Perform routine scheduled maintenance service on automobiles and trucks.

Drive vehicles into service bays, prepare and complete digital vehicle inspection.

Test drive vehicles and prepare vehicle for delivery to customer after necessary repairs and maintenance are complete.

Keep the shop clean and organized to ensure a positive member/customer experience.

Learn from Technician A, B and C colleagues to further advance your career.

Qualifications

High School diploma, GED or technical school certification.

Valid driver’s license.

Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of automotive and truck systems, tools and technical resources.

Ability to independently perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance of automobile and truck vehicles.

Consistently maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.

Exceptional customer service skills and ability to improve customer service scores.

Preferred Qualifications

G1-Auto Maintenance & Light Repair certification.

State inspection certificate, where applicable.

AC 609 Certification.

Work Environment

May experience loud noises and odors intermittently in the shop environment.

Position involves standing, walking and normal physical mobility, including reaching, grabbing, lifting and carrying automotive parts and equipment (averaging up to 80 pounds).

Must have own tools appropriate for skill level.

Must work in heat; fans present in all facilities.

Must work on feet in concrete facility for entire work shift.
