Repair Development - Mechanical Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:
Support the In-Service Operations of fleets of various Large, Medium, and Small Aero engines
Development of repair solutions for structural and rotating parts of engines
Support engine overhaul by providing repair solutions to salvage engine components
In-Service Issue Analysis (Maintenance), Non-conformance Investigation & dispositions
Technical Report writing and develop substantiation for the Airworthiness requirements
Repair procedure Development & writing repair instructions/ preparation and modification of Repair & Inspection manuals to support in service fleet maintenance on Aero-Engine components
Incorporation of Service Bulletin, Modification Bulletin, Design Alternation Request and Repair notes into the repair manuals
Provide inputs supporting evaluation and improvement of processes, tools, and methodologies & ensure best practices are used throughout the company.
Required Skills:
BS or associate degree from an accredited university/college with a minimum of 1+ years of repair engineering experience
Minimum one year of experience in repair engineering and/or technical writing on Gas turbines/Aero Engines components
Good hands-on experience in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and similar tools)
Must have strong verbal and written communications skills, organization & trouble shooting skills
Proven ability to work well within a team & collaborative environment with different engineering functions and manufacturing shops
Desired Skills:
Understanding of repair source approvals and vendor trial management
Collaboration with other support functions- design, analysis, fleet, materials, sourcing, and shops to demonstrate repair processes are viable
Ensure configuration management changes and spares requirements are accounted proactively with sourcing/suppliers
Sound knowledge of gas turbine engines, engine components and their functions during engine operation
Knowledge of various failure/ deterioration mechanisms leading to component/ system failures or distress
Knowledge of various inspection methods including NDT techniques, various manufacturing techniques and their application during component repair
Familiar with Gas Turbine Materials, Tooling, Protective Treatments, Coatings and Heat Treatments
Knowledge of Gas Turbine fundamentals, component manufacturing, cleaning, and inspection processes
Experience in NX, Teamcenter, part drawing reading, preparing repair sketches, and GD&T
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or US Person

Pay Ranges: $68,000 – $72,000 USD
