HVAC Installation Manager Location:
Danvers, MA
Pay Range:
$100,000 - $130,000 Salary

Job Summary The Installation Manager is the business line leader for the HVAC installation division, accountable for driving departmental growth, operational excellence, and profitability. This role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership, managing daily operations while also contributing to long‑term planning, staffing, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a results‑driven leader with deep HVAC expertise and strong business acumen.
Position Overview
Own and execute the strategic plan for the HVAC installation department in alignment with company objectives.
Oversee daily installation operations and ensure work meets quality standards and regulatory codes.
Maintain full P&L responsibility for the installation division, including budget management, cost control, and gross margin optimization.
Set and track departmental KPIs and OKRs (e.g., revenue, job profitability, labor efficiency, customer satisfaction).
Manage a team of Project Managers, Coordinators, HVAC technicians, apprentices, electricians, and plumbers, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
Address customer inquiries and complaints, providing effective solutions.
Review proposals with sales and ensure scopes of work align with profitability and operational capacity.
Audit completed jobs for profitability, identifying areas for improvement or cost reduction.
Set daily and weekly expectations for crews using visual management boards and stand‑up (morning) and close‑out (afternoon) huddles.
Qualifications & Skills Needed
High school diploma or equivalent is required, bachelor's degree preferred.
3 – 7 years of HVAC experience.
2 – 3 years of Management or Leadership experience preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Proven ability to train, lead, and guide Installers and Apprentices.
Proven ability to manage pre‑job walkthroughs with Installers and Apprentices.
Ability to identify and resolve HVAC issues efficiently and effectively.
Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems.
Must be able to lift, twist, bend, and carry up to 50 lbs. at a time.
