New Contract Opportunity - Senior Network Field Engineer.

We’re working with a leading global tech organization that is looking for an experienced

Senior Network Field Engineer

in Dallas, TX or Austin, TX.

Role Overview As a Senior Field Engineer you will be integral to the successful delivery of high profile & complex infrastructure projects for our Fortune 100 hyperscale customers. You will lead onsite delivery, mentor newer field engineers, and maintain high standards of documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

Lead a variety of projects for customers across data center, enterprise and retail space ensuring deliverables are completed on time.

Pull and terminate Cat6/6a and various fibre structured cabling systems; rack and stack network devices and patch cables.

Deploy fully built racks into datacenters and other environments; install wireless access points and terminate, test and dress cabling to a high standard.

Work with local partners or internal field engineers on more complex projects; act as trusted advisor onsite ensuring customer standards and SE&I standards are maintained and exceeded.

Provide lessons learned after projects and redline documentation updates to the wider engineering team.

Maintain accurate As-Built documentation and review upcoming assigned projects to ensure scope and BOM meet requirements.

Be prepared to travel to customer sites regularly and understand WWT and SE&I offerings to articulate them at a high level.

Required Certifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field deploying infrastructure projects for large enterprise customers for a VAR or SI.

Cabling certification desirable – CNCI, BTEC, City & Guilds or BICSI.

Proficient in copper and fibre testing equipment, including OTDR, fluke, network analyser and wire map.

Outstanding communication and organizational skills.

Self-disciplined, self-starter, professional who can successfully complete required scope to an industry leading standard.

Skills / Experience

CCNA, CCNP Certification; CCNA/CWNA or demonstratable knowledge preferred.

Ability to read and interpret MOPs, Cable Run Lists, Patch Plans and schematics.

Deep experience in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting infrastructure components.

Knowledge of how to read and analyze wireless survey results and advise changes to resolve signal issues.

Demonstrated experience of logical configuration – install firmware, push configurations, make configuration changes and troubleshoot using CLI & GUI.

Strong practical skills and ability to interpret impact of network changes.
