Join HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat! We are seeking a Marine Mechanic technician for the Surface Enhance Capability Program (SECAP) who will assist ship's force personnel with conducting maintenance onboard U.S. Naval Vessels. Responsibilities

Assess, Train, and assist in the repair of shipboard Auxiliaries equipment, hydraulics, pumps and valves on DC and engineering systems, AC&R equipment with shipboard personnel. Utilizes an “On Hands” approach/ technique specific to the Sailors individual strengths to benefit the Sailor as well as the command. Assisted Ships force in the identification of proper materials and manuals necessary to make repairs to shipboard systems. May provide direction and lead others. May manage one or more multiple job. Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment. Requirements

High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty. Must have mechanical experience troubleshooting and repairing U.S. Navy Ships. Must be able to obtain and maintain DBIDS (Base Access) Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications

Prefer technical/professional certifications. A current, valid DoD Security Clearance. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration EPA certification is a plus. Prior US Navy experience with Hydraulic experience is a plus. Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
