Job Description New England Cancer Specialists is currently seeking a Full Time
Oncology Clinic Manager
for our Kennebunk and Portsmouth NH clinics. The clinic manager will split time between the two clinics and oversee safe and efficient operation of their assigned NECS clinic. The Clinic Manager provides management oversight for clinical staff including nurses, medical assistants, patient care coordinators, and reception with support for functional supervisors. Key responsibilities include fiscal accountability, maintaining quality and regulatory standards, delivering patient/family centered care, ensuring patient and staff satisfaction, program development, and managing and developing teams. The Clinic Manager regularly communicates with the Clinic Director, VP of Operations, and Site Lead Physician.
NECS is a private medical practice composed of 18 oncologists and hematologists serving the region from 4 separate locations in Maine and New Hampshire. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coaches and leads healthcare team members in the performance of patient care procedures and processes with a focus on safety and competence. Provides coaching, counseling and discipline as needed.
Approves and maintains timecards for direct reports.
Ensures the clinic is appropriately staffed at all times.
Coordinates clinical provider schedules including PTO, and CME.
Delegates to and supports clinic leads in areas of responsibility.
Interviews job applicants, makes hiring recommendations, and helps coordinate new hire orientation, ensuring all necessary training is completed.
Ensures that resources, supplies, and materials are available for patient care.
Assists in the development of department/division goals and works to achieve those related to the Clinic and Treatment areas.
Role models for staff incorporating organizational initiatives and adapting to changes in clinical care, research and patient safety.
Coordinates & participates in continuing education programs and in-services, national and regional professional organizations and community sponsored programs specific to Oncology and Hematology.
Maintains patient care standards and assures that patient care functions, such as assessment, treatment and documentation are completed safely and effectively and in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Ensures that clinical operations follow NECS continuity guidelines and procedures; and, the smooth execution of all practice nursing policies, procedures and systems.
Coordinates, integrates, and completes compliance reviews of new clinical SOPs as set forth by Leadership within NECS.
Education and Experience
Masters Degree in Nursing preferred, Bachelors degree required (or attained within 2 years of role commencement)
5 or more years nursing experience working in an oncology setting
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine
OCN Certification, or ability to obtain OCN Certification within 12 months of starting in the position.
Previous management, leadership and collaborative experience
Strong business acumen and communication.
