New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is seeking a Part-Time Dispensing Pharmacist in our Portsmouth, NH, onsite pharmacy office. Our Pharmacists are an integral part of our oncology care team providing counsel and education to patients on their medications. They work closely with our Providers, Nurses and Financial Advocates to assure that all medications are dispensed safely and in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations as well as insurance guidelines.
NECS is a private medical practice composed of 18 oncologists and hematologists serving the region from 5 different locations in Maine and New Hampshire. Job Duties
Dispense oral oncolytics and other agents related to oncology care. Verify that for oral oncolytics a chemotherapy consent form has been signed. Educate patient on chemotherapy safe handling if appropriate. Dispense antibiotics, antifungals, aromatase inhibitors (AIs), diuretics, steroids, antiemetics, supplements, etc. Post charges for retail pharmacy using QS1, with interface to Nucleus Solutions. Utilize EMR. All prescriptions, excluding narcotics, which we have elected not to fill internally at this time, are generated electronically. Assess patients and act as a resource for patients on a regular basis. Maintain patient care standards and assures that patient care functions, such as assessment, treatment and documentation are completed safely and effectively. Initiate and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response within practice protocol. Maintain open and effective communication with all physicians, employees, and vendors. Work collaboratively with the Clinical Research, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Business Office, HR, and Genetic departments. Travel and Requirements
Rare travel required. Min Education: BA/BS/Undergraduate Pharmacy Degree Registered Pharmacist in the State of New Hampshire. Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist preferred Min Experience: 1-3 years Benefits
