Location: Bel Air, MD. Full-time position.
Summary of Position The Nurse Practitioner provides direct patient care within the scope of allergy and immunology services. This role is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients under established clinical protocols. The Nurse Practitioner works both independently and alongside physicians and clinic staff to deliver high-quality care, support care coordination, and ensure compliance with clinical and operational standards. This position contributes to patient access, clinical efficiency, and overall care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic conditions related to allergy, asthma, and immunologic disorders.
Conduct comprehensive physical exams and health assessments.
Prescribe appropriate medications, treatments, and allergy immunotherapy per clinical protocols.
Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed to support clinical decisions.
Collaborate with supervising physician and interdisciplinary team on complex patient cases.
Provide patient education and counseling regarding disease prevention, medication adherence, and symptom management.
Refer patients to specialists or ancillary services as appropriate.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Act as a clinical resource and liaison to support care coordination with front and back-office teams.
Adhere to clinical guidelines, compliance standards, and AllerVie policies.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to build strong rapport with patients of all ages.
Demonstrates clinical decision-making, leadership, and accountability.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with patients and care teams.
Thrives in a fast-paced, outpatient environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working in EMR systems.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C or FNP-BC) required.
Prior experience in allergy, asthma, pulmonary, or internal/family medicine preferred.
Previous EMR experience required.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and examining patients.
Ability to lift and move medical equipment up to 20 pounds.
Frequent use of computers, diagnostic tools, and clinical instruments.
