Veterinary Practice Manager

Alliance Animal Health . We’re looking for a courteous and efficient veterinary practice manager to coordinate and manage all office administration procedures. The manager’s responsibilities include ordering, inventory management, coordinating schedules, resolving conflicts among office staff, training of staff, and handling all other aspects that keep the practice operating efficiently. You should also be able to answer pet owners' questions regarding clinic policies, appointment availabilities, and treatment costs. Responsibilities
Direct on-the-job training to develop employee skills, advise employees of performance requirements and their progress, discuss corrective measures, and prepare appraisals. Recruit, hire, onboard appropriate staff; manage job descriptions and assist with setting salaries; handle terminations when necessary. Market the hospital to prospective customers and the veterinary community by identifying and attending relevant local and regional events. Resolve informal employee complaints and maintain effective employee-management communication. Work with all team members to support the hospital, the doctors, and the practice philosophy. Maintain patient records in order and ensure accurate entry of veterinary orders, activities, diets, tests, and treatments. Understand veterinary terminology to accurately enter information into patient records. Obtain information from owners to complete records, provide scheduling instructions, and relay practitioners’ orders. Address pet owners’ complaints promptly and maintain strong client service skills. Prepare and manage staff work schedules and office operations. Demonstrate leadership, communication, and motivational skills to direct and support a team. Maintain inventory control, review prices, manage supplies (including controlled substances), and handle returns. Implement hospital policies, including DEA/Controlled Substances and OSHA compliance. Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time. Establish good relationships with vendors for hospital support. Notify veterinary staff promptly of emergency cases and assist with training of office employees as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Experienced or certified Veterinary Practice Manager with a minimum of 1 year of management experience preferred, or 3+ years veterinary experience preferred. Knowledgeable in veterinary medicine terminology and how to run a veterinary hospital. Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker, and strong communicator. Highly organized with strong computer skills. Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance knowledge and skills. Open availability with flexibility to adjust hours based on hospital needs.
