Our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is expanding. We are seeking Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants) to deliver high‑level critical care in a leading Heart Transplant Center. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, diagnosing complex cardiac conditions, and managing acute patients in the CVICU. Sign‑On Bonus : $15,000 for candidates with at least 1 year of Critical Care NP or PA experience. Bonus not available to current or former VUMC staff within the past 12 months. Position Hours
Full‑Time Night Shift Three 13‑Hour Shifts Per Week Department Summary
The CVICU cares for adult general and congenital cardiology, cardiac surgery, thoracic, transplant, and vascular patients. Our mission is to provide the highest level of evidence‑based, compassionate care to patients and families. Key Responsibilities
Obtain and document patient history, perform complete or focused physical exams, and develop assessment and plan of care. Order, interpret, and use diagnostic data to identify diagnoses and manage patient care. Prescribe therapeutic interventions, including pharmacologic, non‑pharmacologic, and surgical therapies. Utilize evidence‑based protocols and collaborate with the team to provide specialty‑specific consultation services. Facilitate patient transitions between health care settings, including admission, transfer, and discharge. Position Qualifications
Licensure: Licensed Nurse Practitioner – Tennessee Certification: Advanced Cardiac or Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (optional) Education: Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Experience: Less than 1 year of relevant experience in a CVICU or ICU setting Benefits
