This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Responsibilities
Performs highly advanced specialist duties for the Standardized Patient Program and Clinical Skills Training. Assists with the recruitment, schedules, and trains standardized patients to ensure they are prepared for clinical scenarios. Assists in day-to-day tasks related to standardized patient activities, including coordination of schedules, communication with standardized patients, and maintaining records of participation. Collaborates with the Standardized Patient Coordinator to ensure standardized patients are following proper procedures and performing their roles accurately. Participates in high-fidelity simulations, including the setup, operation, and breakdown of simulation equipment such as task trainers, simulators, and other simulation devices. Assists faculty and staff in developing and executing realistic simulation scenarios for clinical education purposes. Ensures simulation environments are properly maintained, stocked, and set up according to scenario requirements. Serves as a liaison between the Standardized Patient Program, faculty, and students to ensure effective communication regarding simulation schedules and activities. Provides support during simulation sessions by assisting in logistics, and troubleshooting any technical or procedural issues. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field. Two years of experience working in a healthcare setting or in a role closely related to clinical simulation or medical education. At least one year of experience working within a Standardized Patient program preferred. A combination of education, experience, and specialized training that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered in lieu of specific qualifications. Working Conditions
Requires work in both clinical (simulated) and educational environments, including simulation labs, classrooms, and simulated clinical settings. May involve standing for extended periods, operating simulation equipment, and handling materials necessary for moulage or high-fidelity simulations.
