Join to apply for the MRI Technologist II role at Moffitt Cancer Center. Position highlights: Under the broad direction of the MRI Supervisor, Radiologist and the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the MRI Technologist II shall perform procedures on selected anatomy as requested by the clinician on patients in the following age groups: adolescence 12-19 years, adults 20-65 years and geriatric adults 65 and older. The technologist is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply the proper scan protocols needed to visualize the anatomy in question. Responsibilities
Perform all MRI exams and procedures. Follow all standard protocols and positioning guidelines under the direct supervision of a preceptor. Demonstrate knowledge of Radiology principles, procedure protocols and imaging techniques based on the related MRI scanner as they apply to the daily operation of the MRI department. Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of MRI equipment, scanner table, control panel and coil management in the department as well as related safety principles. Start IVs and administer contrast based on department protocols. Be aware of all MRI-related policies regarding magnet status, quenching, patient safety, MRI cleaning policy and code blue. Documentation under the direct supervision of a preceptor: gather complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to patients and ensure completion of forms (consent forms, injection documentation, release forms, progress notes, MRI patient screening form and patient history forms). Risk Management: provide for personal and patient safety according to standards to avoid injury and use professional judgment when necessary. Use safety techniques prior to and during examinations in accordance with MRI and departmental policies. Credentials And Qualifications
High School / GED Required ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT Certification Two (2) years’ experience in an MRI Technologist role post-certification BLS (Basic Life Support) Required Preferred
Associate degree in MRI / Allied Health Three (3) years of previous MRI experience in a hospital setting preferred Seniorities and Employment
