We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electronics Assembly Technician to support the assembly and testing of GaN and RF integrated circuits related to our nation’s sensor and communications space microwave and millimeter-wave systems. This role will have opportunities to grow and develop new skills, such as measuring on-wafer performance of state-of-the-art GaN MMICs. The selected individual will support a broad team of engineers that work directly with corporate customers to ensure robust and resilient satellite payloads. This role will require 100% on-site support in El Segundo. What You’ll Be Doing
Handling, testing, and working with GaN MMICs Attachment of MMIC die to packages or fixtures Hands-on attachment and rework of leaded, QFN, fine-pitch packages and other SMT components for use on circuit boards (PCB/PWB) and microwave substrates Fabrication of wiring and harnesses, custom circuit assemblies, etc. Performing Test and Measurement of electronic and microwave circuits (i.e., using voltmeters) General lab support activities, as well as providing support to other department activities as needed Active participation in project meetings What You Need to be Successful - Electronics Assembly Technician II
Minimum Requirements: Associates degree or Higher with 5 years of experience in the field of electronics assembly Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on high-quality microelectronics-based die attach, wire-bonding, ball-bonding or ribbon welding Proven ability to perform hands-on high-quality soldering/attachment and rework of surface mount components on circuit boards Experience inspecting, handling, and manipulating small ESD-sensitive components and die using tweezers, microscopes, or related tools Capability for project multitasking in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities Ability to interact and work with a diverse set of engineers and technician colleagues PowerPoint, Excel and/or Word experience Well-organized with demonstrated skills in documentation Action-oriented positive influencer of lab organization and safety (instrument categorization and storage, general cleanliness, development of laboratory procedures, etc.) This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government.
