Job Summary:
Our Quoting Specialist/Engineer plays a crucial role in the labor quotation portion of completing company's response to customer RFQ's (Request for Quotation).
Solid technical capabilities and an intricate knowledge of electronic components are required to accurately define the build process methodology and associated time using standard rates.
Must be able to learn the quoting system to manage customer documents and associated production documents for manufacturing products.
Exceptional interpersonal skills are required to partner with other departments to complete the quoting process in accordance with the customer-scheduled deadline. Additional duties may include entering and maintaining information within the Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
Responsibilities:
Respond to Request for Quote (RFQ) packages as needed. Analyze all customer provided materials (BOM, assembly drawings, Gerber files, schematics, custom instructions, etc.). Organize material information supplied by customers into a format required for quoting and manufacturing Envisions the manufacturing process necessary to build the product applies the applicable time standards to the quote. Prepares PCB array layouts for quoting and manufacturing Obtains quotes for necessary tooling (stencils, wave pallets, etc) and NREs (Non-Recurring Expenses) as related to builds. Upload Bill of Material (BOM) into the quoting system. Validates with internal departments/personnel for accuracy of the proposed labor quotes.
Requirements:
Minimum of an AA (technical) degree plus 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have thorough working knowledge of components, electronic parts and manufacturing processes. Must be proficient with Excel and Word and be able to use/manipulate data using a quoting system. Ability to work with a variety of engineering documents, charts, Gerber files, drawings and schematics. Ability to process and analyze data from Electronic Manufacturing Equipment operations (cost/quantity/configuration/packaging/AML data). Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders involved in the process. Other duties will be assigned.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree (BSEE, BSET, BSME, etc.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and/or experience Working knowledge of distribution (who makes what), and part numbering systems. Calcuquote knowledge desirable. Silicon Expert knowledge desirable.
