Job Title: Emergency Management Public Assistance Specialist (Junior, Mid, Senior levels) Employment type: Temporary Full Time or Part Time: Full time Travel / Location: On-site in various areas of the country as needed, with up to 100% travel required. Must be able to travel / deploy for extended time period. Preference may be given to candidates local to the worksite areas Base pay range: $52,000.00 / yr - $93,000.00 / yr Compensation and Benefits

Be part of a team of knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful allies for our clients. The Public Assistance Specialist for the disaster Recovery division will play an integral part of helping citizens and communities recover from natural disasters and will provide general recovery assistance for emergency operations. Applicants should be passionate about making a difference and support local, state, and federal jurisdictions prepare for and recover from disasters. The position will be guided by ACDC's Corporate Values Platform in all activities. Responsibilities
Provides technical assistance and expertise to help clients through the recovery process Maintains a complete understanding of all applicable Public Assistance policies, requirements, and evaluation protocols Analyze and evaluate project applications, supporting documentation and inspection reports for accuracy and compliance with FEMA policies and procedures Ensure quality, completeness, and on-time delivery of all assigned tasks Utilize grant portal system to track and evaluate client information Maintain knowledge of procurement and contracting requirements Work through all phases of the grant lifecycle Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge in FEMA categories A, B, and E Experience with at least two major Disaster Recovery efforts Experience in Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal and active listening skills Strong time management and written / oral communication skills Customer service oriented Flexible in a dynamic environment Experience and Education
Experience: 1-7+ years of FEMA public assistance and grant experience (Junior 1-3 years, Mid 3-5, Senior 5-7) Demonstrated knowledge of FEMA categories A, B, and E Experience writing project worksheets (PWs) and using grants portals or similar systems Experience supporting an Emergency Operations Center Strong MS Excel proficiency Education Preferences
Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or related field preferred Experience conducting preliminary damage assessments (PDAs) with Federal, State, and local officials Financial compliance experience Other Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older Eligible to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa Must pass background and reference checks; may require client-specific checks Working Conditions
Remote work sites with home location determined at hire; travel to client sites and deployment for extended periods On-site work with clients (EOC, hospitals, debris sites, local government buildings) or field deployments; may involve adverse weather Hours and Travel
