Summary Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, the Resource Programmer IV serves as a subject matter expert responsible for the effective design of manufacturing resources including: Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) numerical controlled (NC) programs, Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools/fixtures, loft patterns, and associated 2D drawings. The role requires knowledge of shop production and processing operations and adherence to Bell management strategies, concepts, and departmental processes and procedures using Bell Business Systems. The position may direct, mentor and train one or more employees.
Work Performed
Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret Engineering Drawings, Models, Bills of Materials, Technical Specifications, Quality Documents, Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures to perform assigned work.
Provide MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing process planning sequences as required.
Provide process liaison support for manufacturing operations when MCAD models with 2D drawings exist as required.
Develop, create, and maintain tooling/fixture definitions for manufacturing operations for all media types, including MCAD and manual legacy designs.
Execute creation and maintenance of CAM programs and operator instructions for Numerical Controlled equipment.
Responsible for developing, creating, and maintaining Loft MCAD models, flat patterns, and associated digital tooling programs.
Maintain working knowledge of NC programming, Loft, Engineering, Tool Design, and Manufacturing and Planning processes and procedures.
Apply GD&T/Aerospace tolerances concepts and support producibility assessments when requested.
Maintain records and schedules of work assigned; meet cost, schedule, and quality requirements to maintain market competitiveness.
Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management.
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to interact between internal and external customers.
Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and be prepared to train, direct, instruct, mentor and check/validate Production Engineering work.
Attend training and complete competency-based testing as required to remain current with technological advancements.
Educational Requirements
Four (4) years of college or eight (8) years of experience in the aircraft industry with demonstrated capability to apply GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Use of information subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.
