This position is for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with emphasis on PCB and system-level design and test, incorporating both analog and digital functions. The successful applicant will have a background which includes defining functional requirements, assisting in the development of complete assemblies including interaction with mechanical, software, and firmware resources, test and integration, and supporting production of end products. The target product line typically includes airborne communication and processing systems that may incorporate power management, digital communications, display control, analog functions, and other application-specific control circuitry. The ability to conduct successful design reviews, develop and adhere to design processes and effectively document design approaches is essential. What You Will Do Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design for new products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met. Participates in technical preparations for new product development and implementation to ensure new products meet the required specifications. Troubleshoots electrical device problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently. Creates engineering and production test procedures and test fixtures. Resolves day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption. Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Completes drawing designs and modifications as required to facilitate the engineering design and change order process. Partners with engineers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders on existing and potential engineering projects or products. Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Produces products according to specifications, using the most cost effective and efficient means. Limited travel may be required. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience Previous experience designing circuit boards, test fixtures, and systems. Qualifications We Prefer An active DoD clearance is preferred Experience in designing and integrating digital and analog products including microprocessor systems, low-power supplies, communication subsystems Experience in creating engineering and production test procedures Experience in designing engineering test fixtures Experience in designing to meet signal integrity requirements for high-speed digital signals (i.e., Ethernet, SATA, PCIe, etc.) Work with Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, and other disciplines to develop functional assemblies Proven experience working with manufacturing teams, vendors, and other suppliers to build cost-effective solutions Experience in requirements generation, validation, allocation, and traceability.
