Semiconductor Field Service Technician III
Job Title: Semiconductor Field Service Technician III Location: Manassas, VA Responsibilities
Monitor, inspect, set up, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor process equipment in the field to prevent downtime. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues; implement effective solutions. Collect and document data for software-related issues; coordinate with engineering teams in Japan. Document all maintenance activities; prepare detailed service reports. Install and update equipment control software; maintain revision history. Support installation of equipment at customer sites. Manage service parts inventory for repair and preventive maintenance. Train and assist customer engineering teams. Escalate complex repair problems to senior-level engineers. Comply with all customer-facing protocols and policies (including possible COVID-19 requirements). Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. 2-4 years of related technical experience (semiconductor industry preferred). Minimum of 2 years of experience working with vacuum equipment strongly preferred. Experience with multi-chamber cluster systems and robotics highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. PLC and software troubleshooting experience a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently after 3-6 months of on-the-job training. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a cleanroom environment. Ability to work flexible shifts and comply with safety guidelines. Bilingual communication skills (Japanese/English) a plus. Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Cleanroom setting (full gowning, gloves, facemask, safety glasses). Standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking, and hearing required frequently. Occasional kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Exposure to mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, lasers, and enclosed spaces. Requires close visual acuity for detailed inspections and precision tasks. Fast-paced, time-sensitive situations requiring rapid troubleshooting.
