Electrical DCS Engineer

GDH Job Description Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced DCS Engineer to join their team. This role involves overseeing the operation and maintenance of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) across various sectors including power generation, water, and gas systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving system upgrades and implementing innovative solutions that support the transition to renewable energy technologies. This position requires the ability to travel to various sites within the inland empire/Redlands/ Rosemead/Pomona areas and will include reimbursement for travel. Responsibilities
Lead and execute advanced maintenance and improvement tasks on DCS, including logic/design updates, software patching, device configuration, system integration, and programming. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to control system hardware and software, utilizing deep technical expertise in DCS and power plant operations. Recommend and implement system enhancements to boost reliability, efficiency, and performance. Manage and contribute to cross-functional engineering projects from planning and design to implementation, testing, and deployment of new control system technologies. Ensure timely and cost-effective resolution of technical issues by leveraging both internal and external resources. Conduct lifecycle assessments of utility infrastructure to enhance preventive maintenance practices, thereby reducing downtime and improving reliability. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related scientific, technical, or mathematical field. Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments. Valid Class C Driver’s License and willingness to travel as needed. Hands-on experience with major DCS platforms such as Ovation, GE Mark, Woodward, Rockwell. Specialization in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Power Plant Engineering is preferred. Experience with CEMS, RIGs, Water SCADA, BMS, and other industrial control platforms. Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve complex problems under pressure. Experience with gas/steam turbines and aero-derivative turbine technologies. Strong communication skills, capable of leading meetings and presenting technical information effectively. Customer-focused mindset with flexibility for extensive travel. Pay Range: $65.00 – $70.00 Hourly This position is based in office and requires the employee to work on-site.
