Responsibilities
Specialize in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms to detect breast cancers and lesions.
Ensure all eligible, age‑appropriate patients receive annual screening mammograms by assisting the practice in any and all ways possible.
Prepare patients for the mammographic procedure and explain procedures to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
Move mammographic equipment to specific positions, adjust controls, and set exposure factors based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.
Practice radiation protection techniques using beam‑restrictive devices and patient shielding skills.
Follow prescribed safety standards in operating all required equipment.
Examine digital images for image quality and maintain equipment in proper working order at all times.
Perform required QA testing to comply with MQSA, ACR and State requirements/regulations.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and process routine paperwork and data entry.
Participate in professional development activities, maintain professional affiliations, and prepare all required reports and data pursuant to MQSA and State requirements.
Assist the radiologist with QA/QC reporting and perform all mammography tracking following MQSA guidelines and requirements.
Maintain all QA documents necessary to exceed Annual FDA Inspection requirements and obtain and maintain ACR accreditation.
Qualifications
Must be up to date on all CME credits.
Must be very patient‑centric, compassionate, and computer‑savvy.
Able to perform a variety of technical activities associated with screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.
Flexible with the ability to multi‑task.
Willing to cover on a moment’s notice.
Experience
Mammography: 2 years (Required)
License
ARRT (Required)
