Summary: Prepared to respond to emergencies, assist doctors in emergency medical care, and ensure a high quality of nursing standards are maintained, among other duties and required to remain calm under pressure, display sound decision-making skills and be attentive to patient needs. Department: ED Castleton. Shift timings: 19:00 - 07:00. This is a Night Shift job and timings are 19:00 to 7:00 hours. Traveler Registered Nurse Emergency Room certification: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Responsibilities
Be ready to respond to medical emergencies and equipped to deal with emergencies in the emergency department.
Quickly assess patient needs and provide care for critical injuries, allergic reactions, and trauma.
Perform minor medical procedures and cleaning of wounds.
Draw blood and maintain emergency room care standards.
Assist with insurance paperwork and ensure the efficiency of the patient check-in process.
Display strong decision-making skills in emergency scenarios.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience as an Emergency Department RN (minimum 2 years).
Able to work under high pressure with attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Additional notes: Ascension St. Vincent Freestanding Emergency Departments: 9 Bed Full Emergency Departments with Adult and Pediatrics staffing; ability to float to multiple sites (Avon, Castleton, Plainfield and Indy South).
