Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – Weekend – Per Diem at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for evaluating and treating individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. The role supports inpatient (acute & rehab) and outpatient settings, engaging in coordination, education, documentation, and evidence‑based services. Responsibilities

Prepare for patient evaluations, obtaining history, administering tests, and synthesizing results to develop diagnostic impressions and recommend goals. Establish a client‑based plan of care with functional, measurable, and realistic short‑ and long‑term goals. Execute therapeutic treatment for all age groups, using a systematic approach to clinical decision‑making and age‑appropriate activities. Utilize reassessment to modify goals, progress treatment, or recommend discontinuation of therapy. Identify population needs and deliver care tailored to age, culture, language, hearing, and visual status, including referral to other health care professionals. Maintain documentation in accordance with policies, collecting accurate data that reflects reimbursement systems. Lift a minimum of 50 lbs, push, pull, and stand a minimum of 1 hour daily. Perform other duties and projects as assigned while adhering to HMH organizational competencies and standards. Qualifications

Master’s degree in speech‑language pathology from an accredited institution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in speech‑language pathology from an accredited institution. Experience acceptable; entry level preferred. Licenses and Certifications Required

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology issued by the American Speech‑Language and Hearing Association. Temporary or permanent license as a Speech‑Language Pathologist in the State of New Jersey. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification (new hires as of 01/01/2024). Licenses and Certifications Preferred

Specialty certifications. Working Conditions

Lifts a minimum of 10 lbs, pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs, and stands a minimum of 3 hours a day. Compensation

Flat rate of $1,417.10 annually. The posted rate is a minimum base pay estimate; full rewards include health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits. Job Duties
