Candidates must have more than 3 years of paid MA experience and meet minimum training requirements to receive an interview. Position requires clinic and back office work at our 680 building. Hours of work will be 5 8’s (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) or 4- 10’s (7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) (MA preference). General Summary

The Medical Assistant is responsible for daily clinical work in the outpatient/primary care setting in accordance with the Ambulatory Medical Assistant Scope of Practice. Assists Physicians and other staff under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Nurse and/or Physician. Essential Job Functions

Depending on location, performs phlebotomy and specimen processing as directed by delegating provider. May align to specific or multiple divisions. Administers injections (intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal), topical medications, ophthalmic drops and nasal spray. Performs ECGs, places Holter monitors and downloads telemetry data. Responsible for ECG and Holter program for a specific location. Works in conjunction with other staff to maximize clinic flow. Intervenes appropriately in emergency situations. Documents data and changes in the Electronic Medical Record. Provides assistance and/or back up support for administrative tasks including scheduling patient visits and basic check-in/check-out activities. Obtains measurements, patient history and other intake activities. Stocks and maintains the clinic area including ordering of supplies as needed. Demonstrates knowledge of protocols related to chemical disinfection, high level disinfection, and sterilization if required. Directs high level disinfection scope cleaning in accordance with defined HLD processes (as applicable by location). Completes trainings and education including Healthcare Provider CPR. Other job functions as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma required. Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant program. Possesses 3 or more years of relevant clinical experience. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred but not required. Some college, preferred. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association. Education

$19.50-$30.23 Hourly At Lurie Children’s, compensation is aligned with market rates and internal equity. The pay range indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position.
