Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
will evaluate, organize, and conduct medically prescribed speech therapy to pediatric patients in a home health setting. The SLP will direct the patient and their caregiver in selected tasks to reinforce and enhance performance. Responsibilities
Provide clinical treatment to patients including screenings, evaluations, direct treatment, and family/caregiver training. Perform evaluations with attention to receptive and expressive language skills, speech fluency, vocal and oral motor competence, articulation, and auditory skills. Coordinate patient care with office staff and other disciplines. Maintain communication with the pediatric patient and family regarding progress, home programs, and related issues. Refer patients and family members to appropriate services including other professionals, agencies, and resources. Consult with physician on patient progress and maintain appropriate records. Maintain supplies and equipment. Attend internal and external educational functions and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI). Attend Continuing Education activities to expand scope of service. Maintain adequate caseload with appropriate productivity. Collaborate with others through knowledge and skills sharing; mentor students and new hires; participate in professional organizations. Demonstrate initiative and independent judgment in performing responsibilities. Serve as backup service provider for other caseloads as needed and comply with all policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Education and Work Experience
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Current state-issued professional licensure. Valid state driver license. CPR certified. Pediatric clinical experience preferred. Home health experience preferred. Other Qualifications and Skills
Ability to read and write in simple correspondence with effective public speaking in small groups. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to interpret instruction and solve practical problems with various variables. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and record keeping. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Physical Demands / Working Environment
Time spent standing, walking, reaching, sitting, kneeling, and crawling as appropriate. Manual dexterity for handling and communication; diverse indoor residential or childcare settings. Moderate physical activity typical of therapy work; must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for close work. Moderate noise typical of an office with computers and equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Compensation
