About the Job

Under the direction of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, contributes to the health and well-being of patients by delivering high-quality veterinary technician services that meet professional standards. Assists clinicians and medical staff with veterinary procedures including specialty care, emergency care, surgical assisting, radiography, anesthesiology, laboratory work, treatments, animal restraint, preventative care, and clinical research. Essential Functions

Assist clients and patients with intake, assessment, work-up, discharges, and prepare patients for procedures such as specialty care, radiography, venipunctures, vaccinations, anesthesia, and medication administration. Apply clinical knowledge to diagnosis, treatment, and patient care under DVM oversight. Provide excellent service supporting the veterinary team and ensure effective communication among team members. Handle and restrain animals as needed. Perform treatments and diagnostic procedures, including therapies and sample collections, under supervision. Administer medications, vaccinations, and perform allergy testing as directed by clinicians. Ensure clients understand home care instructions and demonstrate procedures when necessary. Deliver outstanding customer service, including greeting clients, answering calls, and responding to needs. Maintain accurate records of procedures, supplies, patient status, and communications. Ensure services and supplies are billed correctly. Adhere to safety and infection control policies. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include graduation from a Veterinary Technician program and certification or eligibility for certification as an MVMA/MAVT technician. Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience, problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal skills, and knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal restraint. The Veterinary Medical Center is a full-service referral center serving over 35,000 cases annually, with specialists in all areas of veterinary medicine. It includes facilities for small animals, horses, and farm animals. Pay and Benefits
