Chief, Office of FI$Cal Project Management. Under the administrative direction of the Chief, Division of Accounting, the incumbent is responsible for the FI$Cal Project Management project. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing professional staff dedicated to this effort. This is a comprehensive statewide project which involves partnering with the Department of FI$Cal and Department stakeholders, coordinating the analysis and documentation of complex business processes, facilitating business process discussions with stakeholders, coordinating data conversion protocols, coordinating User Acceptance Testing, partnering with Information Technology staff to ensure interface updates are implemented, Reporting, Change Management, and resource management. This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate. Minimum Requirements

Pursuant to California Code of Regulations § 549.90, this position will be filled via the California Department of Transportation Managerial Selection Program (MSP) process. This process provides for examination and job-selection specific to each position and consistent with the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the classification. Please read the entire job posting before applying for this position. This is a Caltrans Promotional examination. Applicants must have a permanent civil service appointment with the Department of Transportation and meet the minimum qualifications by the final filing date to participate in the examination. Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of an Accounting Administrator II. Two years of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a professional accounting or auditing class equivalent in level to Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) or Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) at least one year of which shall have been in a supervisory assignment. Experience: Broad and extensive experience (more than five years) of increasingly responsible professional accounting or auditing experience. For at least two years, this responsibility must have been at a level equivalent to supervising a staff in the operation of a complex accounting system. Education: Same as Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) or Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor). Application Instructions
