People Operations Coordinator
Sidley Austin LLP is seeking a
People Operations Coordinator
to support HR data integrity and system operations.
Base pay range: $71,000 - $88,000 per year.
Summary Primary responsibilities: input, maintenance, audit and reporting of HR data in Workday HCM and electronic personnel files. Role ensures accuracy, efficiency and compliance, supports HR programs and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strong understanding of Workday HCM modules and reporting functions.
Solid knowledge of testing principles (unit, system, UAT); create and execute test plans.
Prepare and input people and job data for life cycle events (new hire, job change, termination, data changes, compensation, position).
Review and verify source data for accuracy; follow up for completeness.
Responsible for audits and overall data integrity of HCM system.
Manage data discrepancies, request clarification and advise supervisors.
Generate and distribute reports.
Maintain electronic personnel files.
Process U.S. background checks and adjudication; partner with third‑party vendors.
Respond to employment verification requests.
Process completed Form I‑9 and E‑Verify.
Review new hire data accuracy via Recruiting system.
Assist HR systems testing and testing projects.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Target Salary Range Illinois: $71,000 – $88,000.
Qualifications Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong data entry skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience creating and improving SOP documentation and process flow.
Service delivery mentality and experience handling sensitive HR data.
Effective communication at all levels; tailor communication style to leadership preferences.
Collaborative communication with peers, stakeholders and project members.
Curious, self‑starter who navigates complex processes and drives continuous improvement.
Preferred
Minimum 2 years of entering, monitoring and reporting data transactions.
Bachelor’s degree.
Prior HR experience.
Experience with cloud‑based HRIS.
Process improvement experience within HR Operations.
