Job Description Director of Dining Services at Brookdale Fort Myers Cypress Lake. Total bed community of 152 beds: 128 assisted living and 24 memory care.

Responsibilities

Direct food service operations within the community, including all food preparation, dining room operations and dining delivery services.

Purchase all food and manage inventory, ensuring effective cost controls and vendor quality.

Ensure the highest nutrition and food quality for the health and pleasure of the residents.

Comply with all federal, state and local regulations to ensure sanitary and safe operations.

Plan and execute entertaining dining events and themes in conjunction with Activities Director, Marketing Director and other staff.

Hire, train and manage all supervisory staff for the kitchen, dining room, catering and delivery services.

Consult with chefs and cooks to develop and maintain pleasing and nutritious menus, incorporating resident preferences.

Develop department budget, approve food orders, monitor budget compliance and recommend changes.

Encourage socialization and enjoyment of residents through food presentation and events.

Network with Regional Food Service Directors to improve operations and reduce costs.

Qualifications

College degree in food service or hospitality management preferred.

Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in the food service industry, including at least three years in a responsible supervisory role.

Current ServSafe Certification required. Obtain or hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates.

Strong knowledge of federal, state and local food safety regulations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage a large number of associates directly and through other supervisors.
