Micron Technology
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Job Description Summary Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Join an inclusive team passionate about one thing: using their expertise in the relentless pursuit of innovation for customers and partners. The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.
Job Description As a Process Quality Engineer, you will be expected to drive the strategic direction of front-end wafer quality across the local site and Micron\'s world-wide organization. You will support the development, alignment, and execution of long-range strategies which enable Micron teams to meet technology requirements. You will be responsible for actively monitoring, controlling, and reducing air and surface contamination of the wafer and fab environment to protect and drive product quality improvements. Additionally, Process Quality works closely with process areas and process integration to solve complex contamination issues impacting line quality and prevent future occurrence. This role will also involve working closely with process development and engineers to assess and control risks from integrating new exotic materials into the wafer processing environment. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safety & Quality
Follows-up on safety and quality events and works towards on-time containment, corrective, and preventative actions with G8D (Global Eight Disciplines) teams and other stakeholders
Completes all required safety training and ensures all work is conducted in accordance with safety policies
Performs 6S audits and submit good catches to prevent potential safety and quality issues
Monitor area KPIs (Key Performance Indices) and identifies areas of improvement and drives the team towards continuous improvements
Communication & Collaboration
Collaborate with peers locally and worldwide to establish or drive towards alignment of BKMs (Best Known Methods) or SOPs that drive efficiency and reduce cost while maintaining or improving quality of the fab
Drive the understanding of new contamination technology and techniques to ensure that our detection capabilities meet the technical roadmaps and those using the data get the most value from it
Technical/Data Analysis
Systematically reviews and tests contamination hazards to determine risk mitigation for new materials, non-process chemicals and exotic materials that enter the cleanroom, as well as for activities and behaviors that occur in the cleanroom
Keep appraised of new analyzers and industry research
Leads the development of engineering solutions and strategies for detecting, reducing, eliminating, and controlling contamination hazards at point of control/entry/use/process
Partner with engineering teams and PI to understand their processes, tools, and challenges to prioritize, define, and complete studies of the impact of AMCs in the wafer environment on yield, and implement appropriate AMC countermeasures
Provides effective and timely guidance to resolve contamination issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolution
Continues to improve abilities via internal and external education opportunities, and a desire to grow skills in Data Science
Understand the strengths and weaknesses of different analytical instruments and speak to their cross sensitivities, precision, accuracy, resolution, limits of detection, linearity, etc.
Project Management/Planning
Initiates, leads, and drives projects that define improvements in quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
Coordinates and leads meetings and tracks follow-up actions
Support AMC data collection on next generation processes and technologies within Fab 4 for technology transfers to production fabs
