This role supports the Regulatory Law team and focuses on regulatory compliance across FDA, USDA, EPA, CPSC, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, consumer protection, sustainability, and related requirements across states and localities. The Paralegal / Regulatory Specialist will perform substantive and procedural work to ensure appropriate advice and counsel regarding applicable regulations to mitigate risk. The role can be based in Pleasanton, CA or Boise, ID. Responsibilities

Monitoring federal, state, and local legislative, regulatory and litigation developments and trends relevant to the food and beverage retail industry (alcohol, packaging, food safety, labeling, consumer protection). Conducting, analyzing, and summarizing basic legal research in key regulatory spaces. Maintaining databases and tracking adherence to state and federal regulatory requirements to identify trends and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement. Applying knowledge of regulations and company policies to provide initial review of product claims, marketing, and labeling to ensure adherence to FDA, USDA, TTB, and state regulatory requirements. Tracking business adherence to regulatory requirements and assisting with preparation of corrective action plans and agency information requests. Developing training materials for business and legal partners on key regulatory issues. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent paralegal experience. At least 2 years of experience as a paralegal or regulatory specialist, with preference for experience in the food and beverage industry. Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and evaluate broader implications for the business; ability to interact with clients and communicate effectively in person and in writing. Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and take ownership of issues to their successful conclusion. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire trust and confidence with stakeholders at all levels. Exceptional time management, project management, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, MS Teams. Commitment to compliance; in-house experience preferred. Benefits
