Location: USA - New Berlin, 18200 W Lincoln Ave Division: Solutions Job Posting Title: Manager - 101298 Time Type: Full Time Summary
The Operations Manager supervises labor, plans inbound/outbound activities, and manages product slotting and customer communication. Responsibilities include scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower. People management duties involve hiring, training, performance appraisals, and problem resolution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct staff meetings and plan continuous improvement. Inform senior management and client representatives of critical issues. Develop and enforce systems for safe, profitable operations in line with company policies. Implement cost‑saving measures and suggest efficiency enhancements. Meet client KPIs and quality system requirements. Apply sound communication, motivation, and equitable supervision techniques. Assist in hiring, training, and professional development; participate in performance evaluation. Plan daily work schedules and assign duties based on priorities. Review job trends to reorganize warehouse space and staffing needs. Train new and existing staff; assess progress and assign appropriate duties. Monitor and report job quantity and quality; explore improvement ideas. Support physical operations and deliver results by leveraging the right people at the right time. Maintain high team motivation for customer satisfaction. Provide growth opportunities and conduct annual performance reviews. Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and train staff on client and corporate SOPs. Information Systems
Ensure team members are trained in required WMS and other systems. Manage hardware/software procurement per corporate IT policy and stay current with technology changes. Customer Service
Maintain high service standards; provide operational support; attend customer meetings and coordinate site visits. Marketing & Sales
Assist in planning account strategies and prospecting opportunities; develop quoting rates. Budgeting
Support annual operating budget development; manage controls to meet cost and profit goals. Equipment & Facilities
Manage maintenance programs for sanitation, security, housekeeping, and material handling equipment (MHE). Train teams on MHE usage. Safety
Achieve injury and safety metric goals; audit warehouse for compliance. Other Duties
Work evenings and weekends as needed. Perform other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise warehouse associates and team leads. Communicate all issues to manager. Assist operations/general manager as needed. Follow all safety procedures. Manage equipment, supplies, and documents. Follow DSV policies and procedures. Minimum Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. 3+ years in logistics/distribution environment. 1 year supervisory experience. Operational MHE skills. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Forklift training program completion. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). RF scanners. WMS functions. Language Skills
English (reading, writing, verbal). Business communication. Mathematical Skills
Basic to intermediate quantity verification, inventory counting. Other
Attention to detail and timely task completion. Strong organizational and personnel skills. Excellent communication (written & oral). Leadership, supervision, and planning skills. Flexible schedules, including nights and weekends. Cross‑training participation and backup readiness. Adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
Some college. 2–4 years supervisory experience. 2–4 years forklift experience. Current or prior MHE certification. Physical Demands
Use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch; use computer and telephone; lift up to 40 lbs; stand for up to 8 hours per day. Work Environment
