JOB SUMMARY:
The Milieu Manager supervises all milieu management functions for all in-patient units and staff, including clinical programming modules/activities. Supervision includes overseeing clinical programming, interactions with patients, and the implementation of new programs and in-services as needed. Ensure Nursing staff are held accountable for their professional behavior, including compliance with supervision of observation rounds, boundaries, and interactions. Serve as a mentor to Milieu Supervisors, Program Specialists, Lead Mental Health Specialists, and Mental Health Specialists by providing ongoing supervision, training, role-modeling and oversight of clinical activities within the milieu. Ensure schedule compliance, safety initiatives, and effective communication with subordinates. Assist with the implementation of clinical, specialized, and alternative programming. Ensure that restrictive interventions are used as a last resort and that clinical program manuals are up to date. Guarantee the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, and support for activities of daily living. Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Human Services/Clinical Psychology preferred. Experience:
Minimum of three years experience working with psychiatric patient populations and management experience preferred. Lodging/Certification:
CPI Trainer Certification preferred. Knowledge:
Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationship processes, age-specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, CPI leadership skills, diagnostic understanding behind behaviors often exhibited within milieu, and CPR training. Supervision Received:
