Overview
Senior Engineer (Senior Class Desk Support) at Sabre Systems, LLC. The role supports the H-60 Multi-Mission Helicopters Program Office (PMA 299) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will provide Senior Class Desk support and technical leadership to identify, diagnose and resolve complex engineering issues that require a comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems and subsystems, and will coordinate engineering support with NAVAIR’s engineering divisions, external field engineering facilities and test sites to ensure effective program execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. Responsibilities
Leads the execution of complex engineering tasks. Demonstrated knowledge in the area of engineering expertise. Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan; and design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military aircraft and weapons systems. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, and associated support systems. Qualifications
Education: Must hold a Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university. An allowable substitution is a Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree with an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience. Minimum experience: At least ten (10) years in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems; demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise. Key Skills
Former NAVAIR Chief Engineer or Senior Class Desk experience preferred. Experience providing Class Desk support, including coordination with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Fleet stakeholders. Strong understanding of Fleet operations, operator needs and mission environments. Knowledge of NAVAIR engineering policies, processes, and technical review requirements. Experience supporting Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) and developing engineering documentation such as risk assessments, safety reports, and technical plans. Ability to identify and mitigate program risks, resolve technical issues, and communicate effectively across program leadership levels. Background in supporting acquisition lifecycle phases, from requirements development through sustainment.
Must have or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Compensation
Senior Level at Sabre Systems, LLC; compensation is based on location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements. General salary range provided as $70,000-$200,000, with final compensation determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. Sabre Overview
