As a Senior Systems Engineer at Independent Software, you will guide the design, analysis, and enhancement of IT systems with a strong focus on security certification and supportability. You will participate in full lifecycle development, conduct technology studies, and ensure that systems meet both technical and mission requirements. Key Responsibilities

Identify and resolve issues in existing systems while designing and implementing new solutions

Lead enhancements and modernization efforts for existing IT systems

Participate in the design and development of next-generation secure IT architectures

Translate customer needs into technical requirements that align with available commercial solutions

Evaluate and allocate requirements throughout the development cycle for Information Assurance (IA) support

Apply systems engineering principles including ITIL and SEI/CMM to all phases of work

Support Directory Services TTOs or Desktop & Enclave Services TTOs as required by project assignments

Work with a range of technologies including:

Telecommunications protocols (TCP/IP, OIS/CMIP/X25)

Operating systems (Windows, UNIX, Linux)

Databases (Oracle, MS Access, Sybase)

Applications (Tivoli, PeopleSoft)

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience in systems engineering across one or more IT platforms

Strong understanding of enterprise IT systems and security requirements

Ability to translate technical requirements into practical solutions

Familiarity with IT service frameworks such as ITIL and CMMI

Knowledge of core infrastructure tools and protocols

Ability to lead and manage systems engineering teams

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant systems engineering experience

Associate’s degree may be substituted with at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience

Certifications

Must meet DoD 8570 IASAE Level I certification requirements

The CE certification requirements can be fulfilled with either Microsoft OS, Cent OS/Red Hat OS CE certifications.

Clearance

Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
