Description of Duties:

Manages project costs, involving activities such as estimating, cost control, cost forecasting, investment appraisal, and risk analysis. Develops and monitors budget/cost plans, seeking the optimal balance between cost, quality, and time requirements. Interfaces closely with related disciplines involved in cost, budget, schedule, management, and planning. Duties extend beyond preparing cost estimates and schedules by helping the project manager determine resources and supporting assessment and decision-making.

Position Summary: The successful candidate will have proven cost engineering experience with complex, multi-phase, multi-million-dollar construction and/or renovation projects. Responsibilities include preparing detailed computer-generated cost reports, analyzing and reviewing cost/budget expenditures, maintaining cost control reports, and liaising with Data Processing for network calculations and cost reports.

Key Qualifications:

Experience managing and reporting on the cost components of large, complex projects, including developing progress reporting methodologies. Experience with Progressive GMPs, Design-Build, and Construction Management at Risk delivery methods is desirable.

Ability to understand technical and complex construction programs and communicate progress effectively to technical and management personnel.

Teamwork skills, self-starter attitude, results-driven focus.

Essential Duties:

Monitor project budgets for the Capital Improvement Program at Los Angeles World Airports.

Review sub-contractor invoices, ensuring expenditures are accurately recorded against Schedule of Values accounts.

Prepare job costing reports, allocate expenditures, and perform cost-to-complete analysis.

Attend project meetings to provide financial updates and trends.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

10+ years of cost engineering experience in construction projects, preferably aviation-related.

Experience managing a team of cost engineers.

Certification such as PMP, PE, or relevant professional licensure; required cost engineer certification (e.g., CCE, CCP).
