Overview
LaBella has an immediate opening for a Sr. Civil Engineer/Team Leader in our Municipal Group. Reporting to the Asst. Discipline Leader, this position is responsible for leading a team of project managers, design professionals and technical support staff working with public sector (Municipal and State agency) clients and projects throughout the Capital District. The position is in our Albany (Latham), NY office.
Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $155,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Project development, client interaction, project management and technical design primarily for public sector clients (municipal, county, state and non-profit)
Project management responsibilities include development of professional services proposals, management of projects and clients, development of technical approaches to projects, and participation in public presentations/engagement process. As a project manager, you will develop projects with clients and then oversee and manage the project design and construction while interfacing with the client. Managing the project design requires interacting with less experienced staff along with training and mentoring them
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
15-20 years of practical experience in a professional consulting environment
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) NY is required
Candidate must be experienced in civil/environmental engineering with a preferred focus on all facets of water resources engineering
Effective communication skills using oral, graphic, and written forms
Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision
Ability to travel to project sites and work remotely as needed
Ability to manage workload and budgets as allocated
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate efficiently with teammates in different disciplines and different locations
Able to interact effectively with clients, project teams, and colleagues internally
Experience in project management and solid project financial management skills
Communications and analytical/problem solving skills are essential
Preferred Qualifications
Public Sector funding experience (NYSEFC, NYSDEC, WIIA, etc.) for projects a plus. If you do not have grant writing/administration experience, we will train you
Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
Occasionally move about inside the office to access conference rooms, office machinery, etc
Occasionally ascend/descend stairs to access meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. (Elevator available)
Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and ladders for observation of facility operations and construction activities
Frequently communicates with design team members. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions
Occasional travel, primarily within New York State
Ability to access all areas of project sites and conduct physical evaluations of site and facilities, including ability to climb; walk a significant distance, sometimes on uneven ground; and occasional minor lifting ( Willingness to enter confined spaces, with requisite training, is required
Salary Range Salary Range: ($130,000 - $155,000)
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
