Overview
Electrical Engineer I role at Zachry Group. The candidate applies general electrical engineering design practices with guidance from a Lead Engineer and performs non-routine and complex tasks with assistance from Senior Engineers as required. The position involves selecting and adapting plans, coordinating with project team members, and reviewing and integrating technical requirements and design approaches for the project. Responsibilities
Work within a multidiscipline team to develop designs on small and large projects. Read and follow Customer design documents. Assist Lead Engineer to develop budget requirements (time and materials) for proposed projects. Work with estimating team to assist in material and equipment estimates. Participate in the development of construction/installation work packages. Coordinate design and engineering activities with other engineering disciplines (mechanical and civil). Work with Lead Engineer to develop and review project documents for conformity and quality assurance while adhering to applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. Participate in constructability reviews for assigned projects. Develop new techniques and/or improve processes, materials, or products for project execution. Provide support to field construction and commissioning activities during installation. Participate in client design review meetings. Assist in the development of oneline diagrams and wiring diagrams. Maintain electrical engineering lists such as load, equipment, and cable lists. Develop calculations and studies for sizing of equipment, cables, raceways, grounding grids, etc. Provide design input for raceway systems (underground ductbanks, cable tray, above-ground conduit). Provide design input for lighting systems (interior, exterior, roadway). Provide design input for grounding systems. Coordinate with engineering and other crafts to ensure a complete, coordinated design. Work with vendor documents for compliance with purchase design documents. Assist Lead Engineer with developing purchase specifications. Provide bid reviews for the purchase of material, equipment, and outside services. Participate in equipment inspections to verify compliance with purchase design documents. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a 4-year ABET-accredited college. Ability to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with Senior Company Leadership. Organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, able to work in a team environment and take direction from others. Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments as necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred Requirements
EIT Certification or ability to obtain a Professional Engineering License once experience requirements are met. Experience on Engineer-Procure-Construct type projects. 1-2 years of electrical engineering design experience. Experience with ETAP or similar software for Electrical Power System Analysis. Self-motivated engineer who thrives on challenging tasks and has ambition to lead small teams or projects. Physical Demands

Office environment with potential for work in an industrial setting. Fast-paced environment; may encounter noise levels in industrial locations and presence of equipment, vehicles, materials, and tools. Noise levels may vary with bells, whistles, and alarms.
