We are seeking a detail-oriented Building Material Estimator to join our team in Osseo, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, architectural plans, and project specifications to provide accurate and efficient material take-offs for multifamily and residential construction projects. You will work closely with project teams to ensure estimates are cost-effective, precise, and aligned with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications to prepare material take-offs.
Ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and account for project risks.
Evaluate construction methods and materials to recommend cost‑saving alternatives.
Provide expertise in lumber, framing, and building materials in compliance with codes and project needs.
Maintain timeliness, accuracy, and quality across all estimates.
Contribute to the development of standardized estimating tools and processes.
Support teams with technical knowledge and occasionally present to customers.
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of experience in estimating building materials for multifamily or residential projects.
Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents.
Strong knowledge of construction processes and building materials (especially lumber and framing).
Proficiency in estimation software such as PlanSwift or Bluebeam.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong work ethic and collaborative mindset.
